Adak is an Alaskan island that is a part of the Aleutian Islands and is situated in the Bering Sea. The southernmost city in Alaska, according to some, is Adak. There are rumors that a pirate commander by the name of George Dwargstof buried several cans full of gold before the end of 1892.
Since Thomas Thom Spitler has lived in Adak his entire life, he has experienced the city in all of its highs and lows. However, preparation work, including handling the problem of unused bombs left behind by the military when the base was closed in 1997, had to be done before the search could start.
