Netflix‘s Love Is Blind is back for Season 5, just a few months after the fourth season. Even though 2 more episodes of the latest season have yet to be released, viewers have already labeled it as the messiest season so far.

Just as Izzy and Stacy explore their relationship after getting engaged, a song with the lyrics “But I thank god that your love is blind” is played in the background and it seems viewers have been obsessed with the song.
Well, the song is titled Love Is Blind, by Nate Smith, whose hit single Whiskey on You went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The single was co-written by Nate himself, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jesse Frasure, and Geoff Warburton. The song is one of the 26 songs from his album titled Nate Smith (deluxe).

In episode 7 of Love Is Blind, Izzy invites Stacy over to his apartment and demonstrates to her his bachelor-like lifestyle thus far, complete with a “lost and found” collection of jewelry and other items women have left behind. Stacy is offended by this and the fact that Izzy keeps paper plates and plastic cups in his cupboard rather than real dishes, and the two argue over it.
She runs out of his apartment, sobbing, and rushes to his back patio. Izzy follows her outdoors, and as Smith’s song plays, the two of them pout while burying their faces in their hands.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Nate Smith said that it “is a big moment” when asked about his song getting featured on Netflix. He explained,
My jaw is on the floor, this is crazy. This is a big moment and it’s an emotional moment for me. It’s insane. It’s my first song on Netflix and I’m just extremely grateful to have that happen.

Izzy dumped Johnie to continue his relationship with Stacy after a contentious argument. Stacy’s lack of vulnerability did cause him some concern, but following a lengthy chat in which she became more vulnerable than ever, he felt secure enough to pop the question to her.
The most recent run of episodes features Stacy and Izzy leaving the pods to meet one another’s family and visit one another’s homes. It turns out that Stacy lives in a home that she is remodeling in an effort to create room for Izzy. In contrast, Izzy leads a single life without a nightstand or any dinnerware other than paper plates.
Izzy also came to the realization that his future partner requires someone who can maintain her opulent lifestyle after meeting Stacy’s father. He does, however, receive her father’s approval.
Izzy’s former pod love interest Johnie and her current partner Chris meet the couple in person, which causes some drama for the couple. Izzy acknowledges that he feels Johnie’s past is hazy and that it is troubling that she is with Chris. Izzy returns to Stacy after that annoying chat and says he’s glad he’s with her and not Johnie.
Izzy and Stacy have reportedly interacted online recently and appear to be at least in touch, but it’s unclear whether they are still dating or have simply decided to split ways amicably. We’ll have to wait and see what the upcoming episodes of Love Is Blind have in store.
