While another friend handed him a .45 gun, one of Dale’s friends proposed that he work at a Subway sandwich store. Dale even threatened to kill John William Zeltner Jr., a worker there, if necessary. Dale, who was born in Danville, Illinois, on May 10, 1967, had a less-than-ideal upbringing. His mother was just a youngster raising another child when she became pregnant for the first time at the age of 15. And when he and his siblings were little, he ultimately lost his job, just like his father.
Growing up, Dale only witnessed his mother’s black and blue eyes, split lip, and suffering. That caused him mental distress. Then, when he was molested by a family member at the age of 10, things only got worse.
When Dale Wayne Sigler attempted to discuss it with his mother, she became distraught and fled the room. He was quiet and isolated. Dale was driven into a life of crime by all of this pain. He started using drugs as a teenager and engaged in minor misdemeanors. He was placed on probation for two felony burglary arrests, according to his juvenile record.
He allegedly committed at least three other burglaries at that time, for which he was housed in a juvenile hall. At that point, when he was 21 years old, he desired death. Dale Wayne Sigler committed his crime fully conscious of what he was doing, which is why he was composed on March 1, 1991, when he was convicted guilty of premeditated murder and given the death penalty by lethal injection.
Dale Wayne Sigler had become weary of leading an emotional, aimless, and disengaged life. He wanted to let go of everything because he was sick of the trauma that followed him. However, Dale decided right away to change his life after being sentenced to death.
