Chef Maya-Camille Broussard Wiki/Bio
Maya-Camille Broussard, who was born and raised in Chicago, spent much of her childhood in her dad’s house after her parents divorced and quickly found herself beefing up.
As a youth, Stephen Broussard, a criminal defense lawyer with a penchant for baking and dubbed himself The Pie Master, lived in poor homes, where food was sparse.
This mental trauma was unfortunately passed on to Maya-Camille because he did not prioritize nourishment for her. On the weekends, though, her father drew her into the kitchen, where she learned many valuable lessons while he taught her his abilities.
She once declared,
No matter where a pie is made in the world, it’s still a pie that we can all enjoy. Similarly, no matter a person’s gender, sexual orientation, race, wealth, or disability status, they’re still a person who deserves the best that life has to offer.
This sentence also applies to Maya-Camille, who is deaf, a condition she considers “invisible.” All of this, however, has only driven her to attain her career ambitions.
With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fine Arts and Theater, respectively, she worked as a curator for a few galleries prior to starting Justice of the Pies.
