Matter of fact, another shop by the same name is located in Brownsville, TX. Thus, we assume they were unaware about it and changed the name of their shop later.
Thanks to Netflix, car enthusiasts now have a new reality television program to binge-watch. Tex Mex Motors, the streamer’s most recent show about car restoration, has become an instant hit for Netflix as it ash already entered the Top 10 TV Show list not long after it premiered.
It follows a team of automobile specialists who operate out of El Paso, Texas, and have a four-month profit target of at least $250,000. They buy older, vintage cars that have been abandoned to rot in Mexican junkyards, transport them to the US, restore them, and then sell them.

For those who are unaware, Borderline Customs is the name of the shop the experts from Tex Mex Motors decide to name their shop. Before revealing the exact location of the shop, let’s have a look at how they came up with the name.

In the eighth episode of the show, Rob Pitts aka Rabbit gathers the group as they are almost ready with the restoration of cars and sell them. He tells everyone that their shape has to have a name. Rabbit himself starts suggesting the name for their shop saying Nachos’ Garage.
Jaime Hjelm immediately rejects the name and jokingly suggests “The Rabbit Hole.” Later, Jaime suggests using Borderline Customs. Immediately, everyone agrees and they finalize to name their shop Borderline Customs.
Unfortunately, we have to inform you that there is no shop named Borderline Customs in El Paso, TX. We looked on the Internet and found nothing. However, there is a shop by the same name in Brownsville, TX. They do everything the Tex Mex Motors team does but with motorcycles. They do not deal with cars. Thus, it appears the Tex Mex Motors cast was unaware of the fact that a shop by the name of Borderline Customs already existed. After finding out about its existence, we can assume they later might have changed the name of their shop.
Has Tex Mex Motors Been Renewed for Season 2?
If you’ve watched the eight episodes of Tex Mex Motors that are now available, you undoubtedly want more. In case you have been wondering if the show has been renewed for Season 2, Netflix has not decided the fate of the show as of this writing. And we can say it is not surprising at all.
After all, Netflix’s decision to renew or cancel a new series might take weeks or even months. However, Tex Mex Motors has had a successful start. Tex Mex Motors season 2 appears possible, thanks to a good launch that placed it in the Netflix Top 10 and its low cost as an unscripted series.
