Rey Mysterio’s extremely personal family battle with his son, Dominik, reached new heights when Rey had to defeat his son at WrestleMania 39 to teach him a lesson about respect.
Rey, who arrived at the arena in a lowrider with Snoop Dogg behind the wheel and Eddie Guerrero‘s theme tune blasting, was unafraid to confront his son and use his unmatched lucha libre talents to defeat Dominik.

Rey took off his belt to the amusement of the spectators and then began to beat his son with it. Dominik approached his mother and sister out of rage, even throwing a drink in her face. Rey attempted to defend his daughter Aalyah, but Dominik shook his forearm and hit him. Dominik bragged to his mother that he had defeated his father, but Angie smacked her son, which caused Rey to regain momentum. Finn Bálor and Damian Priest seemed to support Dominik at ringside as Rey started to roll.
Rey took advantage of yet another counter and hit Dominik with a 619, but Bálor’s interference with the WWE official allowed Priest to push Rey off the ropes and give Dominik the edge. As Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde defeated The Judgment Day, the recently established Hispanic World Order abruptly materialized and leveled the playing field.
Meanwhile, Dominik smacked Rey with a 619 of his own followed by a frog splash in the midst of the mayhem, but his father kicked out. Dominik attempted to finish the move by striking his father with a steel chain that Priest had hidden on the ring floor, but Bad Bunny, who was providing Spanish commentary at ringside, pulled the chain away from Dominik.
Rey was able to defeat his son by throwing Dominik into the ropes, hitting another 619, and finishing with a frog splash of his own.
