Marie Kondo Announced She’s Pregnant in January 2021
Marie Kondo‘s tidying up was set to be a bit more challenging earlier this year. Back in late January 2021, the decluttering guru revealed to her millions of Instagram followers that she is pregnant with her third child.
Uploading a picture of herself in a flowing pink gown and a blue sweater, holding her expanding baby bump, the Sparking Joy star captioned the post:
I have some news! Another bundle of joy on the way.
Messages of congratulations came in from the Netflix star’s fans and followers.
With an ode to Kondo’s signature phrase, one fan wrote:
Sparking joy news!!! Congratulations.
Another wrote,
Oh my goodness!! Wonderful news!! And with two big sisters to help out, this little one will be so well taken care of!!
Renowned Australian model Miranda Kerr commented,
So happy for you and your family ? Congratulations ?
Likewise, The Container Store, where Kondo’s collection of goods is available, wrote:

The 36-year-old Kondo married her husband Takumi Kawahara in 2012. They are the proud parents to daughters Satsuki and Miko.
In a 2017 interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Sparking Joy star on Netflix said she her husband implemented her methods in their own home when she became pregnant for the first time.
She said,
When we found out we were having a child, my husband and I went through a decluttering festival by reviewing things we had. And we discussed how much space — for example, how many drawers — we could give to our daughter.

The Sparking Joy star, 36, who struggles to speak English, revealed the delightful news on her personal Instagram account. Along with the cute picture of the baby boy along with one of his sisters, Marie wrote:
It’s a boy! I am over the moon to welcome this bundle of joy into our family. We are all doing well.
The mom of three who announced she’s pregnant in January added,
Now comes the fun part — spending this special time with our little guy.
The birth of her third kid at the time came just five weeks after Kondo revealed her new Netflix series, Sparking Joy.
