Yes. A Journal for Jordan is based on the true account of First Sergeant Charles Monroe King.
As per Variety, King was bombed in Iraq in 2006, when his baby boy was only seven months old, but his wife, writer Dana Canedy, collected all of the touching messages in a book for their child.
Dana’s boy, Jordan Canedy, is now 16 and she works as a publishing professional at Simon & Schuster.
As stated by CNBC, the renowned reporter was also the first lady and the first individual of color to oversee the Pulitzer Prizes, a position she held from 2017 to 2020.
