Bryan Penn Johnson From Netflix’s Last Chance U: The 22-Year-Old Is a Basketball Player Who Currently Plays for Cal Poly Mustangs!
Bryan Penn Johnson (@bryan.pennjohnson) is a basketball player who stars in the second season of Netflix’s Last Chance U Basketball. He has been playing basketball since the eighth grade. In the first episode, he discusses the difficulties he has faced throughout his basketball career, including having to leave Louisiana State University (LSUI) after failing his math finals.
He eventually found himself at ELAC with Coach John Mosley (@coachjohnmosley) and the rest of the Netflix cast. He told Mustang News that his time at East Los Angeles College (ELAC) helped him regain confidence, thanks in large part to Mosley’s efforts. Many teams were interested in recruiting him after seeing him perform at ELAC.
Bryan was able to realize his dream due to his dedication. He is a junior at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) as of this writing. As part of his selection, the young man received a full scholarship and his own room. Bryan and Mosley’s efforts appear to have paid off, as his new institute is now part of the NCAA Division I circuit. He is currently a member of the Cal Poly Mustangs.
Bryan has played 6 games in his new University’s basketball program as of this writing. He has started one of these matches and averaged 9.5 points per game. He has not only started one game, but he has also played for approximately 57 minutes. Mustangs’ schedule for the 2022-2023 season is jam-packed, and Bryan Penn-Johnson is sure to impress the circuit with his skills and speed.
Bryan Penn-Johnson, who is from Long Beach, California, has been a basketball player for a long time. As a senior at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, the athlete helped his team achieve a record of 24 wins and two losses in the 2017-2018 school year. This meant that the program was ranked third in the state of Utah. He was able to secure a position at the University of Washington for the 2018-2019 academic year as a result of this.
Bryan’s first year of college, however, did not go as planned. Despite being a member of the UW Huskies, he had Redshirted his freshman year. This meant he had an extra year to make an impression on the NCAA basketball world, though the experience did not sit well with him. For the 2019-2020 session, the Wasatch alumni appeared in six games as a Redshirt Freshman. On November 24, 2019, Bryan scored five points against San Diego during this time. Bryan grabbed three rebounds and blocked two shots in a game against Colorado on January 25, 2020.
Bryan transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU) for his sophomore year and joined the LSU Tigers. He remained with them throughout the 2020-2021 session, which was heavily influenced by Covid-19. He did play in five matches as his team advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s second round. Despite this, Bryan’s position in the Division I circuit was jeopardized, forcing him to leave LSU in 2021.
