Alexee, who was a cheerleader for the Artesia Bulldogs, was admitted to the Artesia General Hospital on January 27 because of back pain; however, examinations showed that she was pregnant and in labor. She afterward spent a lot of time locked up in a hospital bathroom. After she left, a cleaner discovered the bathroom was stained with blood. After lifting the bulky garbage bag, the cleaner called for nurses.
A doctor in a white lab coat says that they discovered a dead baby to Alexee Trevizo and her mother, according to the bodycam footage. On the other hand, the teenager immediately confessed saying,
I’m sorry, it came out of me and I didn’t know what to do … I was just scared, it was not crying or nothing.

On May 10, police filed first-degree murder, intentional child abuse resulting in death, and tampering with evidence charges against Trevizo and arrested her. However, she was let out of custody on a $100,000 bond. and is now free to finish the academic year without being placed under house arrest or an ankle monitor.
Trevizo’s lawyer, Gary C. Mitchell, previously told the Associated Press that his client shouldn’t be charged with murder because she has no criminal history. He stated that there are “major discrepancies” over what transpired at the hospital and that ‘this isn’t a classic child abuse case.’
Trevizo’s subsequent pretrial hearing is set for September 11th. A jury will reportedly deliberate on the incident during the trial, which is scheduled to begin on October 2.
