Justin Court From Outlast: The 44-Year-Old Survivor From Kentucky Has a Black Belt in Jiujitsu; He Has Also Survived an Avalanche and Surfed All Over the World!
When it came to surviving in the wild, Justin Court (@jcourt003_), who entered Netflix’s Outlast at the age of 44, was far from a novice during his time in the competition. His bow skills and army background served him and his teammates well. Justin attended Alpha Camp with Jill Ashlock, Amber Asay, and Lee Ettinger. However, from the first day, he disagreed with Jill about how the team should function.
Despite their differences, Justin’s team could collaborate when necessary, especially after Lee’s departure. However, difficulties arose when all of the teams were asked to construct a raft to travel downstream the Neka river to an island and collect crab pots. While the other teams rushed to complete their rafts, Justin ignored the time constraints and took his time to construct the most efficient raft. His tardiness irritated Jill and Amber, who walked to the island during low tide and grabbed the pots on their own. However, the adventure had left them drenched.
When the two women returned, they called Justin Court for assistance, but he did not hear them because he was still working on his raft. This prompted him to argue with his teammates, who claimed that his perfectionist tendencies were detrimental to the team. Even though Justin’s raft was no longer needed to get to the island, Alpha Camp could still use it to catch some crabs. They also decided to use the vehicle to cross the river and raid one of their opponents’ bases. Justin decided to take his time and create a camouflage using the techniques he learned as an army man. This caused him to have another argument with Jill (@thegypsyrambler).
The sleeping bags from the Delta Camp were nonetheless taken by Justin after he crossed the river. Delta Camp members saw their ransacked base while Justin was attempting to return to his raft. They attempted to blame Charlie Camp for the robbery but then discovered the Alpha Camp’s raft, prompting Dawn Nelson’s ultimatum. The thief had to surrender before she finished counting, or the rubber tubes that kept the raft afloat would be punctured. Justin, who was hiding in a tree, refused to give in, resulting in the destruction of his raft. He waited for everyone to leave before crossing the river by himself.
The inner workings of Alpha camp remained stable for a while, but things changed after the trio caught some delicious salmon. Justin’s behavior had changed dramatically, according to Jill and Amber, and they suspected him of taking more food than his fair share. As a result, Jill arranged her bag in a specific manner to determine whether Justin was going through their belongings. When they saw the gloves’ new positions, both women were satisfied with their assumptions and confronted Justin.
After hearing his teammates’ accusations, Justin informed them that he had soiled his pants and was in desperate need of a change of clothes. He emphasized that he did come across Jill’s bags and put the gloves back on, not giving much thought to where they had been. Jill and Amber, on the other hand, did not believe him, and Charlie Camp decided to take advantage of the situation. The latter team invited Justin to join their group.
Justin agreed to the switch and left Alpha Camp with his belongings, furious at his treatment. He even ripped the tarp that served as their base’s cover. This irritated Jill and Amber, so they wrote Charlie Camp a note explaining their side of the story. While Justin’s new team was hesitant to fully trust the two women, they did ask him for clarification on the destroyed base. When he admitted to doing so, the rest of the Charlie Camp became uneasy and asked the former Armyman to leave because his actions did not align with how their team worked. Justin eventually fired his flare gun and exited the show.
