Is High Evolutionary a Kang Variant? MCU Future Explained!

Discover the possibility of High Evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 getting retconned as a Kang the Conqueror variant in the MCU due to Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles.

Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to its entangled characters and plots across several movies. Ever since the concept of variants was introduced, Marvel fans can’t help but speculate if one character is a variant of the other. The latest subject of such discussion is High Evolutionary, played by Chukwudi Iwuji, in the fresh release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Is he a Kang variant, though?

Previously, we discussed Chris Pratt’s hair transplant rumor, Zoe Saldana’s nose job rumor, and Margot Robbie’s role in GOTG.

Could High Evolutionary Be a Kang Variant?

Speculations revolving around the possibility of High Evolutionary being a Kang variant have picked up in recent days, given Jonathan Majors‘ legal troubles. The Kang the Conqueror star from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania (2023) was arrested on an assault charge in New York earlier in the year.

Given the current predicament that Marvel Studios is in, fans have become vocal on social media demanding that MCU chief Kevin Feige promote Chukwudi Iwuji as the new Kang the Conqueror. No doubt, High Evolutionary can be retconned as a Kang Variant in the Multiverse saga, but there’s been no official confirmation, yet, and we’re unlikely to get one anytime soon.

The entire concept of variants is confusing to some fans, especially as Spider-Man variants looked like different people while Doctor Strange variants all looked the same. So, it remains to be seen if a character like High Evolutionary could be transformed into a believable Kang.

Likewise, we cannot overlook the fact that High Evolutionary is a well-known character in Marvel Comics without any specific links or connections to Kang the Conqueror, at all. Their similarities basically end with highly advanced tech plus the ability to time travel since they’re completely different characters with their own unique storylines.

Currently, the future of Kang remains unclear because of Jonathan Majors’ ongoing legal battle. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is not rushing to make any decision concerning the actor/character’s future in the franchise anytime soon. However, don’t bet your house on Chukwudi Iwuji getting cast for the role. As of this moment, it remains extremely unlikely, no matter how much fans wish for it to happen.
