Sue Cleaver’s Weight Loss: The Eileen Grimshaw Actress From Coronation Street Lost Three Stones by Following a Mediterranean Diet, That Is Rich in Nutrient-Dense Foods Like Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains, and Heart-Healthy Fats!

The weight loss transformations of a long-running soap star have piqued fans’ interest over the years. Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street managed to lose three stones by following a single diet that has been lauded for its numerous health benefits instead of undergoing any surgery. It also helped her drop from a size 16 to a size 12.

Sue began her weight loss journey in 2016 when she decided to begin a new chapter in her life. According to The Sun, she has joined the thousands of people who follow the Mediterranean diet, which is high in nutritional foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and heart-healthy fats. It usually consists of avoiding meat and dairy products, as well as foods high in sugar content.

She was inspired to make a change after being dissatisfied with the results of the bathroom scales. Sue was always a “self-confessed foodie,” a source previously told Woman magazine. They explained,

[She] admitted that her Achilles Heel was overindulgence. Everything has changed now. Sue’s in her mid 50s so it was a no-brainer that cutting down on certain things was what she had to do.”She’s in this for the long game and wants to live a long, happy and healthy life.

The source went on to say that losing weight and keeping it off was important not only for Sue but also for the men in her life, including her partner and son Elliot. The Mediterranean diet is simple because there are no strict rules to follow. However, it does advise skimmers to keep to a maximum.

The Eileen Grimshaw actress successfully overhauled her diet and fitness while suffering from type 2 diabetes, a condition in which blood sugar (glucose) levels become excessively high. Along with medication, a person’s diet and physical activity are important.

People should eat a variety of foods, including fruits and vegetables, as well as starchy foods like pasta while keeping sugar, fat, and salt to a minimum – all of which the Mediterranean diet provides. She has previously advocated for Diabetes Week, telling Diabetes Advice that,

Having good control of diabetes is really important. After all, people with the condition live with it every day, taking care of their diet and physical activity.
