Interior designer Jed Johnson was in a relationship with his partner Andy for over a decade. Netflix has always brought reality docuseries based on historical events, and life stories. Similarly, on 9th March, this streaming media came up with this new show, The Andy Warhol Diaries which follows the life of Andy Warhol, and now, the book has evolved to being a documentary series and has a total of six episodes.

Andy Warhol is an American artist, film director, and producer, and on the other hand, his ex-partner, Jed Johnson worked in an art studio, The Factory.

Working as a sweeper, Jed Johnson made his earning; however, his calmness and dedication towards his work made him friends with Andy and his group. Although Jed and Andy’s circle were forming a friendship, a new relationship was developing between Jed and Andy.

Andy and Jed’s growing connection was adding a lot to their relationship, and slowly with time, they were officially together, and Andy made Jed his muse for his photos, and later, he became the editor of successful movies.

In addition, in 1977, Jed directed the movie, Bad, although the movie didn’t profit him, directing this movie added lucrative to his professional field.

In 1978, a calamity arose to Andy Warhol and Jed Johnson when  Valerie Solanas shot Andy. While at that instant, both Andy and Jed were present, Jed made it escaping the horrific incident and saved himself from the gun. Fortunately, Andy survived, however, he was badly injured, and the gunshot brought health complications too.

Being a good partner, Jed took care of Andy and moved with him into his townhouse. During this shift, Jed and Andy both were busy with their respective schedules, and that brought a turning point to their relationship.

Their busy schedule didn’t allow them to spend time as before, and thus, conflicts started arising, and on 12th December 1980, they ended their 12-year long relationship.

How Did Andy Warhol and Jed Johnson Die?

Although Andy and Jed were partners and had spent 12 years with each other, their death has no connection. After parting ways with Warhol, Jed fell in love with another man, and thus, moved to New York. Later, Jed owned a company named, Jed Johnson Associates.

While everything was going smoothly, a misfortunate hit him. On 17th July 1996, Johnson was one of the passengers out of the 229 passengers on TWA Flight 800, which exploded off the coast of Long Island, New York, and his body burnt to fire.

However, his ex-partner, Andy Warhol passed away decades before him. At the age of 58, Andy lost his life of cardiac arrhythmia in February 1987.
