No, Outer Banks Is Not Over Yet: The Netflix Show Has Been Renewed for Season 4!
Relax!! Outer Banks is not over yet. The Pogues will return for Season 4 of the show for more action and adventure. And where better to share the news than at Poguelandia, the fan festival that recreates the Pogues’ beautiful island paradise?
At Poguelandia in Huntington Beach on February 19, all the Pogues—Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant—took the stage with a few of the kookiest Kooks—Drew Starkey and Austin North—to announce the arrival of Season 4—all before Season 3 had even premiered. Stokes notified the audience that they were the first to learn that “Outer Banks had been renewed for a fourth season” while sitting on the edge of the platform.
The executive producers and creators of Outer Banks, Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, told Tudum that they hope viewers truly experience the power of the Pogues’ relationship in Season 3 since the risks are bigger than ever this season. Burke told,
There’s all this action and adventure, but it’s really about the bond between the friends.
Although Season Four official narrative has not yet been revealed, we anticipate that the OBX crew will be busy searching for Blackbeard‘s treasure. They get a captain’s log from the famed pirate in the final minutes of Season Three. The Pogues are then requested to help in solving a mystery, and they gladly agree.
The OBX team appears to be in over their heads, however, we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out. Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, was a real historical character. In the 1700s, he was a notorious pirate who is rumored to have stashed a mystery treasure. The Smithsonian claims that researchers are still working to find the treasure’s whereabouts and whether it is still buried.
Although the struggle of the OBX squad is purely fictional, we have a feeling it will be full of surprises. Pope actor Jonathan Daviss seems to corroborate this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. During the discussion, Daviss described how the Outer Banks had grown more challenging with each passing season. According to Daviss, viewers will understand the importance of the gold and how it relates to Big John‘s disappearance in Season Three. He told,
All those questions start to be answered, and you realize how way in over their heads these kids were this whole time. Our Pogues are small fish in a big pond and they have to adapt to not get eaten by the sharks around them.
Talking about the release date of Season 4 of Outer Banks, we hate to say it but it has not been revealed yet. Nonetheless, there was a hiatus of around one and a half years between Season Two and Season Three. If all goes as planned, we should be reunited with our OBX buddies sometime next year.
Before leaving, find out if Outer Banks is appropriate for 12 years old.
