Was Berlin Gay in Money Heist? blurred-reality.com

blurred-reality.com – Many viewers wonder if Berlin was gay in Money Heist as he kisses another male character, Palermo ( who is gay), in one of the scenes. Well, here is what we believe.

While there has been a Money Heist-shaped gap in our lives for the past two years, the new spin-off series, Berlin, has just arrived on Netflix and is set to deliver the show’s distinctive combination of action and tragedy.

As you might expect, the new series revolves around the controversial yet charming Berlin, who is once again played by Pedro Alonso. The new eight-episode season delves into a previously unseen chapter in Berlin’s life when the career criminal visited Paris and set his sights on a luxury auction house.

With the release of the spin-off, people are seeking for more information about Berlin. Meanwhile, one thing viewers have always wanted clarity about is his sexuality as he kisses another male character, Palermo, in one of the episodes of Money Heist. People want to know if he was gay. Well, let’s find it out together.

We Don’t Think Berlin Was Gay in Money Heist!

Money Heist never gave any clarity on Berlin‘s sexuality. One might conclude that he was gay since he kissed Palermo. However, we also have to consider the situation.

During the flashback, Berlin acknowledges Palermo’s feelings for him but confesses that they will never be together. He also says to Palermo that he is attracted to women, and has been married five times [to women]. Nevertheless, he also adds that he had never felt as much loved as with Palermo. He then kisses Palermo and leaves the scene saying Palermo should leave him alone. And that’s it.

One might be confused about his sexuality just from the given hints. However, we believe Berlin wasn’t gay. He clearly was attracted to women. Getting married to women five times is more than enough to confirm his sexual attraction. But what about the kiss between him and Palermo? Well, he might have kissed Palermo as he knew how much Palermo adored him.

One Reddit user perfectly justified what we believe about Berlin’s sexuality writing,

I thought the idea was that Palermo (a gay man) was hopelessly in love with Berlin (a straight man), but was afraid to confess to him because he knew it could never be. Kind of the inverse of Nairobi and Helsinki, although Nairobi obviously had no qualms about telling Helsinki when pushed to do so.

That being said, I could definitely get behind the idea of Berlin being more fluid as well. He doesn’t strike me as the sort of person who would care too much about labels like “gay” and “straight”, so I don’t think it would be out of character if he had had amorous relations with

On the other hand, many people also believe that Berlin was bisexual. Well, everyone can speculate whatever they want. Maybe the spin-off will give us some more hints regarding his sexuality. Till then, we cannot help but conclude that Berlin wasn’t gay in Money Heist.

Will There Be Season 2 of Berlin?

Season 2 of Berlin has not yet received a Netflix renewal, which is not surprising given how recent the show is. While early reviews have been mixed, the ultimate test will be how audiences react and what the streaming figures look like.

If Berlin proves to be as popular as its predecessor, Money Heist, it will only be a matter of time until further episodes are produced. However, if the series is renewed for a second season, the lengthy production timeframe of Berlin season 1 may be extended.

The first season left the characters in an intriguing situation, as well as the possibility of the full Berlin season 1 group returning. If season 2 occurs, the most obvious comeback would be Pedro Alonso as Berlin, since the closing of the first season hinted he intended to reassemble his crew for more adventures.
