Gabriel is only 19 years old in The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself. Actor Emilien Vekemans, who is 30 years old in real life, plays the character in the Netflix series. Gabriel had always thought of himself as a fair-born witch, but there were concerns that he might be a blood witch.

The Netflix original series The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself is based on Sally Green’s young adult novel Half Bad. Just a few weeks before its Netflix release, the YA fantasy adaptation Half Bad underwent a name change. The original book title was changed to a thicker one for the eight-part adaptation of Sally Green’s well-known book series about 17-year-old Nathan’s battle to escape the shadow of his notoriously cruel father.

The eight-part television series is based on the young adult novel Half Evil by Sally Green and follows the tale of Nathan, a teenage boy who is the adopted child of Marcus Edge, a bad witch. Nathan is played by Jay Lycurgo. The Fairborn Witches are always keeping an eye on Nathan for indications that he might be turning evil, but as tensions between the Fairborn and Blood Witches rise, Nathan discovers a way to flee.

Gabriel Is Only 19 Years Old in Netflix’s The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself!

Gabriel is a character in the show The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself, played by Emilien Vekemans (@emilienvekemans). He is perhaps best known for his role in the television series Typique as Max.

Although Emilien Vekemans is 30 years old in real life, his character Gabriel from The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself is 19 years old. When Nathan and Annalise flee her father and the Council of Fairborn Witches, who want to take Nathan in, they come into contact with Gabriel, a Blood witch.

Later in the series, when Nathan (Jay Lycurgo) (@jaylycurgo) is tasked with tracking down Gabriel’s real identity, Gabriel is first introduced. He is an alchemist in the program who employs various powders and potions to affect others around him, such as making them move slowly or completely forgetting who he is.

Gabriel had always thought of himself as a fair-born witch, but there were concerns that he might be a blood witch. He was told to contact a strong witch named Mercury (Róisn Murphy), who had a helper named Gabriel. He is a bisexual party boy and is increasingly snarky in the series. According to Pink Villa, Gabriel discovers his confidence in sexuality and community as a result of the blood witches’ freedom.

To suit his abilities, Emilien said that his character’s outfits required a lot of attention to detail. He said of the costume designer:

Hannah Edwards, the costume designer, was incredible. I truly am a big fan of her work, and working with her was so great.

He claimed to be a huge admirer of her work and that working with her had been wonderful. He continued,

She brought this kind of edgy, underground style, but it was also witchy; they had this balance of looks, and they gave me so much jewelry; it was so fun. Colm McCarthy served as the film’s director. They also created this incredible holster, a particular holster for my power because I’m an alchemist and have all my potions and powders that I can use to battle or perform other tasks. I believe I had about nine necklaces and numerous rings.

He described it as being similar to a special holster from which he could draw his powders, and he particularly liked the look they produced. He has talked more about his character in the show.

Along with these roles, Emilien also played Comédien Oedipe in Voltaire in Love and Roger Lagarrigue in Mixte. He began his acting career in 2013 with a role in the television series Typique as Max. With his work as director on the short film Zoufs, the celebrity has numerous talents at his disposal. He contributed as a co-writer to the same project and later to the Cleavage movie script. Despite living in Paris, France, he is a Belgian national.
