Janus was born in Eindhoven and would frequently operate out of Belgium, smuggling ecstasy, amphetamines, and hashish. The crime lord had been under investigation for over a decade and was discovered to be importing drugs worth millions of Euros to Australia.
According to the NL Times, Janus was arrested in the early 1990s while attempting to smuggle 865,000 ecstasy tablets for 34 million Euros. The real-life Ferry Bouman has been arrested on several occasions in Belgium, the most recent being in 2011 when he was found importing a large amount of hashish and amphetamine. He was also sentenced to ten years in prison in Belgium for managing a huge criminal organization.
However, he was granted early release from prison in 2015 after a successful appeal on the condition that he would not return to Belgium. As of now, we’re not sure of his whereabouts but he has not made headlines since being released in 2015. As of now, he must be in his 60s.
Ferry: The Series Season 2 Update!

With Ferry: The Series delving into the character’s background, it’s possible that the story that the show’s makers wanted to tell has come to a natural conclusion, and no further material is required.
The show was promoted as a miniseries that would bridge the gap between Ferry and Undercover. With the latter’s fans being the primary driver of engagement in what is otherwise a fairly obscure franchise, if the spin-off has practically caught up to the flagship series, then… things have to come to an end eventually.
It’s also worth noting that Undercover was not a particularly successful Netflix series, but it did appear to improve over time, with the third season getting into the top ten in 23 countries, according to Netflix Top 10. However, like past seasons, it only lasted a week, hinting that the cosmos as a whole does not have a long lifespan. Ferry: The Series, as a predecessor to this series, is unlikely to outperform it.
