Ricky Gervais Responds to Criticism of His Joke in Armageddon!
Ricky Gervais has a message for those who don’t understand his sense of humor. The comedian has finally responded to a petition calling for a contentious joke to be removed from his recently released Netflix comedy special, Armageddon.
The joke is being objected to since Gervais is purportedly busy filming movies for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for terminally ill children. Gervais claims he does not walk into hospitals and say, ‘Wake up, baldy.’ He then went on to say that he begins his videos for children by saying, “Why didn’t you wish to get better? What, you fucking ret**ed as well?” Of course, outrage started.
Ricky Gervais does not appear to be bothered by the criticism.

Addressing the controversy, he told BBC Radio 5:
Of all the millions of people that watched it and loved it, only a few don’t like it. If I give them special attention and try and placate them, I’ve annoyed the other millions of people that got the joke. They go, ‘No, you’ve ruined it for us!’…I’ve got a duty to the people that like it and get it. I wouldn’t sit down with a heckler would I? If I’m playing to 20,000 people, I wouldn’t stop the show and explain to them. I ignore them.
