Netflix‘s jaw-dropping real crime documentary movie, The Tinder Swindler, is a two-hour-long movie that officially got released on 2nd February 2022.

Unlike other movies and shows, this particular American crime documentary elucidates the real-life story of a man named Simon Leviev and three other women: Cecilie Fjellhoy, Pernilla, and Ayleen Charlotte.

Forming the fabricated love to each of these three women, Simon set a trap, and eventually, upon winning the hearts of these women, he made out his way in making these women his income sources. In other words, he conned millions of dollars and added those dollars to buying his luxuries.

Featuring every small detail of how Simon trapped those women and all the plans, Netflix’s production brought the movie, The Tinder Swindler. However, controversy has been surrounding if the movie is a real-based incident or just a made-up story.

Is The Tinder Swindler a Real Documentary Movie or a Scripted Story?

Following the lives, and the events of those three victims, Netflix provided a platform to these three different women in raising their voices in the form of a movie, and since the whole fraudulent case was directly linked to the dating application named Tinder, the team came up with this creative name, The Tinder Swindler.

The whole story revolves around, starting in 2018, when the scammer, Shimon Hayut faked out all of his personal information, describing himself as Simon Leviev, the heir of the diamond business in LDD, and claimed himself to be the son of The King of Diamonds in Israel, Lev Leviev.

Opening a scam Tinder account, and making women believe in his deceitful personality, not only did these women fall and catch feelings for Simon, but they also blindfolded, and threw cash at him. Yes, Simon succeeded in alluring around $10 million from those women.

As said in the movie, these three women teamed up, and the determination inside of them in exposing the cheater couldn’t stop them from raising their voices.

While myriads of people advocate in convicting Simon and blaming him for his bad deeds, some annoying people with literally no knowledge of the actual case are defending him, and are telling us that Netflix just prepared a whole script, and showed it to us.

Scrutinizing every small detail, and seeing how those women narrated their heart-wrenching stories, along with Simon having a bad past: getting arrested several times, and running from country to country, the whole story outweighs around Simon being the culprit, and the movie, The Tinder Swindler being a real crime documentary movie.

Did Simon Leviev Go to Jail after The Tinder Swindler?

While myriads of people have assumed that it is likely for Simon to get imprisoned just after the release of The Tinder Swindler, unfortunately, the cops do not go after the real-based movies, and then lock people up.

To that point, Simon Leviev is living a normal life, surrounding himself with all the luxuries and the best possible materialistic items.

Back in 2019, he did get arrested for another case of cheating and was sentenced to around 5 years, however, for his so-called good behavior, he was eventually released after 5 months. Then, Simon began his business, a legal advising business, and even got back to using Tinder again.

Although The Tinder Swindler brought negative exposure to Simon’s life, teeming with disgust, and hatred towards him, this somehow aided him in increasing his Instagram followers as people’s curiosity in getting to know more about him up-trained dramatically.
