Toji Fushiguro got a scar after he was thrown into the disciplinary pit of cursed spirits by his own clan (Zenin) since he was born without any cursed energy and they believed he was a stain to the family.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a shounen anime that centers on Yuuji Itadori, a high school student who ends up fighting a cursed item. It is based on the same-titled Japanese manga by Gege Akutami. After a string of strange events, he swallows the object without realizing that it is actually a finger that belongs to the formidable demon Sukuna Ryoumen.
This forces him into an intricate world of powers and curses that are not only difficult to understand but also extremely dangerous for his life. The Shounen series, which debuted on October 3, 2020, is among the most-watched television programs of this decade. Without a doubt, we all knew it would return for Season 2.

On the other hand, a lot of viewers have been curious to know about the scar he has on his mouth. Well, we’ve got you covered.
Previously, we discussed the stories of Clint Malarchuk and Matthew Perry.
Here’s How Toji Fushiguro Got His Scar!
In the original manga, it has not been mentioned how Toji Fushiguro got his scar. Thanks to the official Fanbook, we know how and why Toji got a scar on his mouth.
Toji’s clan, the Zenin clan, abused him even while he was a child since he was born into the family without any cursed energy. His family always saw him as a stain on the clan’s reputation. His family mistreated him horribly and shunned him because they thought he was beneath them.
Toji received the short end of the stick even as a child. He was thrown headfirst into a pit of evil, cursed spirits by the Zenins. During the event, he acquired his recognizable face scar while fending off ghosts and barely escaping with his life.

The clan hoped the curses would leave him so they wouldn’t have to deal with the “shame” any longer. As Toji grew older, the clan’s treatment of him became more and more harsh. They were so terrified of his wild heavenly restriction skills that they attempted to subdue him further.
But Toji’s hatred of the Zenins and the jujutsu hierarchy only grew as a result of the torture. As an adult, Toji let out his pent-up wrath on the jujutsu community after years of being the Zenin’s punching bag.
The Zenin clan left scars on Toji’s life considerably deeper than on his face. His relationships, especially with his son Megumi Fushigoro, were greatly influenced by the scar. It’s a concrete representation of the struggles Toji went through and wants to protect his son from.
His wish to spare Megumi from the same terrible fate played a part in his choice to leave him behind. His heart was in the right place, even though it wasn’t the finest parenting decision. Because Toji and Megumi had experienced suffering and rejection from the Zenin clan together, they developed a profound link that strengthened their love.
Here’s Why Toji Adopted His Wife’s Last Name!
Toji‘s past as a member of the Zenin clan is very clear. Despite this, Toji Fushiguro is his name, as revealed during the series. What then made him give up the Zenin family name and adopt the Fushiguro name?
Since Toji was not a sorcerer, his clan members abused and mistreated him frequently. He left the Zenin Clan as a result of growing to despise the group and jujutsu sorcerers. Following his departure from the clan, Toji got married to a woman whose last name was “Fushiguro.” He gave up his previous family name and adopted hers after getting married.

Toji’s evil behavior changed after he married his wife. But after she died, he turned back to being a reckless man who would do everything to get money, similar to his days as a jujutsu sorcerer.
