Yes, Joe Goldberg kills Tom Lockwood (Kate Galvin’s father) in Netflix’s You Season 4 part 2. Joe breaks into Tom’s private aircraft hangar, confronts him, and then suffocates him till he dies at the end of the season.
The second and final part of You Season 4 has finally arrived on Netflix, and viewers aren’t wasting any time binge-watching the brand-new episodes. Joe Goldberg is determined to catch the Eat The Rich killer once and for all in the latest edition, but it is not a simple task given that the killer is well-liked and well-known by the majority of Londoners.
Joe Goldberg visits London and meets a number of notable characters while rubbing elbows with some of the city’s wealthy and prominent people, most notably Kate Galvin, with whom Joe starts to form a love relationship. He and Kate start dating in part 2, and it doesn’t take long for this to lead to Joe running into Kate’s father, Tom Lockwood.
We anticipated more character deaths in part 2 because there were plenty in part 1, and the killer was still at work. In the same way, Tom Tockwood’s life appears to be under threat as he crosses paths with Joe. Well, does Joe kill Tom? Let’s find it out.
Previously, we touched on Love Quinn’s mental illness and Amy-Leigh Hickman’s background.
Yes, Joe Kills Tom Lockwood as He Breaks Into Tom’s Private Aircraft Hangar and Suffocates Him Till He Dies!
Tom Lockwood meets Joe Goldberg, and in the usual manner, he doesn’t survive long. In the finale of You Season 4, Joe kills Tom in revenge for being set up to kill Rhys Montrose and to protect Kate since he’s never let her leave his influence behind. Joe breaks into Tom’s private aircraft hangar, confronts him, and then suffocates him.
Tom Lockwood is a multibillionaire CEO and the head of an international company. He immediately recognizes who Joe is as soon as the couple is introduced in the second part of Season 4. Tom is also a rival of London’s mayoral candidate, Rhys Montrose, and later asks Joe to kill him.
As Kate’s father, he had been preparing her to take over the company one day, but when she was barely 19, this resulted in a tragic calamity. She was in charge of directing the building of a new pipeline, but a problem emerged that resulted in several deaths.
Even though Tom covered up the incident, Kate has been carrying guilt about it ever since. As a result, she moved to London and changed her last name to Galvin because she felt the need to escape Tom’s shadow. Kate is unaware that her father has been subtly directing her life from a distance, and that every achievement she has had on her own has been the result of Tom’s intervention.
Later, Joe kills Tom. In order to hide his traces, Joe also murders Tom’s bodyguard, Hugo, and stages the crime, framing Hugo, who Joe buries to give the impression that he has disappeared. By the end of season 4, Kate has inherited her father’s business empire and is therefore finally able to stand on her own two feet.
Will There Be Season 5 of You?
Netflix has not yet announced if You will get Season 5. Yet, considering that the fourth season of You has not been announced as the series finale, we are almost confident that Joe will return to our screens.
In the past, anytime a broadcaster or streamer was getting ready to release a final season, it would advertise it heavily in all of its marketing materials. Of course, the show might potentially be abruptly canceled and face some fan reaction, but we have a feeling that won’t happen in this instance.
We’ll just have to cross our fingers for now as there was no mention of You season 4 being the series’ last hurrah back in 2021 when it was first announced. Sera Gamble, the showrunner and creator in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, stated that there would undoubtedly be more for Joe. She said,
We have an idea for season five that we’re excited about.
You isn’t a show that airs on a yearly schedule. Seasons have always been spaced out far apart, with season 3 and season 4 separated by a year and four months. Season 4 filming began in March 2022, and part 1 was released in February 2023. The program may return in the second half of 2024 if we maintain the same pacing for a fifth season and Netflix announces a renewal a few months afterward.
